As noted in the
course overview,
there will be an exam during the class period for Friday, March 7th
(this is the only exam for the class).
The exam will cover the material in the textbook
from Chapters 1 to 9.
The exam is closed book,
and no electronic devices of any sort can be used.
You will be permitted (and are encouraged!)
to bring in a single standard sheet
of paper (8.5 by 11 inches) crammed with whatever material
you want (you may use both sides of the paper).
To get a better idea about the kinds of questions
that might appear on the exam,
you can take a look at the exams given in 2001 to 2007
(PDF).
The main value to you of this exam is carefully reviewing
what we have covered to shore up your understanding
of the course material.
If questions arise as you study for the exam,
please feel free to contact me or to raise them during class.
If it would be helpful to you,
we can devote a substantial part of the class period prior
to the exam to such questions (Wednesday, March 5th).
