Links for Some Statistical Methods:

Topics:

General : Introduce basic concepts, models and application of statistics

ANOVA: Experimental study designs.  Analysis of Variance is applied to problems of comparing means of two or more normal population.  The idea is to partition the total variance in the response that is due to each factor.

Multivariate Analysis: Often time various characteristics of data from one object/experiment are collected.  Some statistical methods such as Principal Components Analysis and Factor analysis are developed especially to describe and analyze the multivariate data.

Case-Control : Provide definition and examples of a case-control study.  It is intended to evaluate the association between exposure to a risk factor and the development of a disease.

GLM: Links for modeling response distributions other than normal distribution as well as the computing help for commonly used statistical software.  An extension of a linear regression model, some common distributions of data are generated from Binomial, Poisson, or Multinomial etc..

HLM: A linear regression model for data with multi-levels.

Linear Regression : Links for theory of linear regression, its diagnostics and computing help of common statistical packages.  A linear regression model relates a (continuous) response variable to one or more predictors through a linear equation.

Power Analysis & Sample Size: links for formulas and programs to calculate sample size and power for
various survey design.

Panel Data : Statistical methods for data that are recorded over time for each subject.

Structural Equations: Links for basic theory and packages for structural equations. Models for Structural Equations provide are to formulate, fit, and test some linear relationship among many quantitative observed variables. It is a confirmatory analysis.

Selection Bias: Links for common methods such as instrumental variable methods and Heckman Models to address the selection bias in observational studies.

Survival Data : links for statistical methods and packages that model time to events data and censored data. Provide introduction of methods to estimate the survival functions and regression models for survival times.

Estimation Methods: Provide links to common estimation methods including MLE and method of moments.

Others : Provide links to other Statistical Consulting Services and computational support.
