Kristin Alma Sprague died August 19 on natural causes at her home in Seattle, WA. Ms. Sprague was a 1965 graduate of Lewiston High School, Lewiston, ID. She studied at Lewis Clark State College and the University of Idaho. She then relocated to Seattle where she enjoyed a long career at the University of Washington. She was also an accomplished poet and graphic artist.
Ms. Sprague's work as the Graduate Program Assistant and with Registration was valued and respected by staff and colleagues. In her later years, she served in the Department of Statistics, where she became a beloved advocate for students, who referred to her as "Auntie Kristin." Ms. Sprague retired from public service in 2004. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Rick Sprague, of Sharon Massachusetts and by four nephews and nieces, Milo, Jared, Adrienne, and Maya Hui Sprague, as well as her life partner, Mr. Robert Hurst, of Seattle.
There will be a memorial service for Ms. Sprague on Saturday, September 30, 2006. It will be held at the Friends Meeting House, 4001 9th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA from 3 -7- PM.
The family is requesting that donations be given to the American Diabetes Association in the name of Kristin Sprague for research on childhood diabetes.
