REI is seeking a Marketing Analytics Manager with a proven background in leading and developing database marketing analytical efforts related to customer level database information, data-mining, modeling, and website. As a critical member of the Direct Marketing and Modeling Team you lead a team of seasoned analysts to further understand our customer's behavior and track our online traffic. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Creation and execution of a data mining / database marketing program, in order to discover relationships, associations, and trends among customers, products, and channels. Also includes working with marketing managers and business owners to implement these learnings in such a way as to increase sales and marketing productivity and effectiveness. - Leadership of the statistical modeling program for use in targeted direct marketing campaigns and other appropriate analysis projects. - Leading our online analytics programs, which includes providing analytical support to online management, such as KPI and dashboard reporting and analysis of online programs; the development, execution, and analysis of testing on the REI.com web site; and the creation and execution of an online analytics strategy. - Provide analytical support to direct mail management (email and print), including reporting, customer analysis, and test analysis. Provide similar analytical support across other areas of the division, including evaluating the effectiveness of media advertising, promotions, and member loyalty programs. - Provide a measure of the financial success of marketing programs and campaigns, with an emphasis on customer behavior. - Provide customer information as requested by other business units throughout the company, namely Retail, Merchandising, and Finance. - Work with Information Technology on the continued development and maintenance of the customer data warehouse and ensuring that REI's systems and databases continue to serve our analytical needs and requirements. - Working with the Director to develop the analytical vision at REI and then executing that vision. - Working with the Direct Marketing Leadership team in the development of direct marketing and analytical strategies. - Staff development and management. QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years experience in marketing analytics, ideally with a multi-channel retailer. - 2+ years experience in analytical management, focused on database/statistical analytics and/or website analytics. - 2-5 years of people management experience - Data mining skills utilizing SAS and SQL. - Proven ability to perform in-depth data analysis and to report and present strategies and recommendations to business units - Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, business, or math.
