We remain committed to the simple idea on which our company was founded: offer each customer the best possible service, quality, value and selection.  We are dedicated to building our business, one customer at a time, by listening and working hard to provide them with the best possible shopping experience in our store.   This position is designed to help understand the details of Nordstrom´s customer behavior with respect to our brands, cross-brand purchasing, shopper behavior, department cross-shopping, and general in-store purchase behavior by leveraging our internal Customer Knowledge warehouses.   Primary Responsibilities: * Explore the interaction between customer behavior, merchandise purchase preferences, channel loyalty, new market penetration, and integration with customer touch-points * Fully understand the Nordstrom customer behavior - by analyzing our transaction-level database. * Analyze information from Nordstrom's customer knowledge warehouse, converting information into actionable findings using SAS and SQL * Handle numerous and simultaneous analytic requests from multiple functions within organization. * Communicate and present high-level findings to senior management team Required Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor's degree preferably in social science, finance, computer science, actuarial science or statistics * 4+ Years of Business Experience  * Database mining experience * Strong proficiency with SQL and SAS * Experience in programming packages (ACCESS, or Visual Basic)/data processing languages) * Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) * Ability to manage concurrent projects at different stages of completion * Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail * Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities and timelines/due dates Desired Skills and Experience: * Database mining and analysis * Market research and trend analysis * 3 years of direct marketing, database applications, project management, quantitative and analytical marketing experience The above information on this definition has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
