- Your name must be clearly written on the front page, otherwise no credit.
- Pages must be stapled, otherwise no credit.
- Your answers must be legible, otherwise no credit.
- Problems whose complete solutions appear in the back of the book will be graded as0 or 1. In other words, if you work it out, then you'll get a +1; if you don't, then you get a +0.
- Some answers in the back of the book are wrong.
- In the assignments, "by hand" means that you must use the equations in the book/lecture to solve the problem, not a computer program in excel, R, etc. By the same token, "by computer" means that you should use R, excel, or your favorite computer program, in which case you should also turn in the corresponding computer code, with explanations.
- Unless otherwise stated, all problems should be done "by hand."
- Follow other rules/instructions which may accompany each assignment.
- Generally, provide everything that you think is required to convince the grader that you know what you are doing, and that you actually did the work.
- In the assignments, x.y means chapter x, exercise y. Make sure you are using the 2nd edition of the book.
