The Provost of the University of Washington has launched a major effort focused on DataDriven Discovery, with a commitment to hire several new faculty in this area. In support of this effort, we are seeking candidates for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant (0116) Professor position in the Department of Statistics at the University of Washington. This would be a fulltime, multi-year, 9-month service period appointment. Applicants must have their Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics or a related field by the start of the appointment.
We encourage applications from exceptional candidates with a particular focus on machine learr,ing and large-scale statistical analysis of high-dimensional time-series with applications in change-point detection and computer vision. Duties of this appointment include research, undergraduate and graduate teaching in statistics, and service. The new faculty will also participate in the UW eScience Institute.
