Sharon Guy and Brain Browning were married on July 12th. Sharon's name has been changed to "Sharon Ruth Browning".

Christopher Volinsky and Christine Turnberg were married on July 27th.

Cibele da Silva, Martin O'Conner, Todd Simmons and Daniel Walsh have passed the MS Theory Exam.

Martin O'Conner, Melissa Chui and Greg Ridgeway have passed the MS Applied Exam.

Barnali Das, Todd Simmons and Amy Darke have passed the PhD Applied Exam.

Patrick Aboyoun, Florentina Bunea, Daniela Golinelli and Beatrix Jones have passed the Stochastic Modelling Exam.


Jan Bierlant, University of Leuven, is visiting the department to work with Galen Shorack. He will also give a seminar (see at left).

Christian Posse, University of Minnesota, is visiting to do research with Adrian Raftery.
