New Publications:
The graduate probability sequence (Stat/Math 521-522-523) being
taught by Galen Shorack will be based on his new text
"Probability for Statisticians" (Springer, 2000). This text has
grown over the years from his previous efforts teaching this course.
Don Percival and Andrew Walden (Imperial College, London) have
a new book out entitled "Wavelet Methods for Time Series
Analysis" published by Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, in
CUP's series on "Statistical and Probabilistic Mathematics".
This book is in part an outgrowth of Statistics 530, (Wavelets: Data
Analysis, Algorithms and Theory), which Don has been teaching regularly
for the past five years. There is a web page for the book at http://staff.washington.edu/dbp/wmtsa.html.
(The Math Library has a copy of the book).
Congratulations:
Daniel Walsh and Beatrix Jones were married July 8th.
