Course announcement
Outline of the course
First assignment
Send me email describing your
background, what statistics classes you have taken, and why you are interested
in the class.
Cases
Cases with asterisks are not yet available.
Study groups
The class consists of a single group (unless we suddenly get an additional
influx of students).
The group will work
together the entire quarter. Most projects will require group reports, although
there will be some individual pieces of work required.
At the end of the quarter, each individual will assess every
group member's contribution (including their own) to the group product.
Detailed schedule
The day-by-day schedule is being updated regularly
and constitutes my best guess of what we will be doing on each day.
Online discussion
Online discussion can take place here.
Feel free to add any comments you have.
Computing
S-Plus on the Web:
- An S-Plus on-line manual.
- Frequently Asked Questions
about S.
- Introduction to S-Plus
by Brian Ripley, Oxford University.
Librarians
Our librarians are Steve Hiller (hiller@u) and Patty
Carey (pcarey@u).
Web searches
The librarians have produced a Web page on
library resources.
Each student needs to complete the
class assignment
given there. Credit will be proportional to
the number of data sets annotated (at least two must be done, at most 10).
