Outline:

A first course on regression, aimed at mathematically-trained undergraduates. For a slightly higher-level class, see Stat 504. (In particular, Stat 504 takes a linear algebra approach to the subject. We will touch on linear algebra only briefly).

The course will include both basic theory and applications. The text is aimed more towards the practical applications side - we will supplement this with theory in class Monday and Wednesday. Friday class will take place in the MSCC Computer lab classroom in the basement of the Communications building (CMU B-027). Computing sessions will make use of the R statistical package, which (if you want to use it at home) is available free here
