Thomas is Director of the Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (CSSS), a Professor in the Department of Statistics and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Economics. He received his BA from the University of Oxford in 1992 and his MS and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995 and 1996 respectively. He is a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. His research interests include Graphical Models and Causality.
