StatCom at the University of Washington is a student-run volunteer organization which provides statistical consulting services free of charge to non-profit community and governmental groups.

About

The mission of the StatCom Network is to provide pro bono statistical consulting to local nonprofit, government, and community service organizations and to engage students in voluntary, service-oriented statistical consulting and leadership. StatCom can provide assistance in a wide variety of areas, including but not limited to:

  • Study design
  • Data analysis
  • Statistical literature review
  • Software tutorials

StatCom members generally work in small teams of 2-3 students (undergraduate and graduate) in close collaboration with our clients. If you are a UW undergraduate or graduate student, please register as a volunteer at the Contact Us page.

Please note that we do not provide statistical consulting services to most clients within the University of Washington - such clients are advised to contact the University of Washington Statistical Consulting Service which is designed explicitly to meet the consulting needs of the university community. In addition, we cannot accept clients working for or affiliated with for-profit organizations. Some local companies which offer fee-based statistical consulting services are listed on the Resources page.

To register for services, please email us with your name, email address, organization, a description of your problem as well as the services requested. (We will soon have a registration form for this.) Please send this information to StatCom Moderator Max Schneider at maxs15 at uw . edu
