Alec Greaves-Tunnell

Hello! I am a fourth year PhD student in Statistics at the University of Washington, working with Zaid Harchaoui at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, and optimization. Before coming to Seattle I spent two years at the University of Cambridge as a Herchel Smith Scholar, and as an undergrad I studied math and philosophy at Williams College.

My current work is focused on efficient methods for estimating models of sequence data, with an emphasis on model flexibility, interpretability, and identification of complex or long-range dependencies.
